The first time when I heard subconscious mind is in high school. I read a book on super-charge memory in the bookstore and it talks about the persuading oneself by whispering to 'program' one's subconscious mind. I didn't pay attention.
Later when I read on financial freedom topic, I repeatedly encounter this subject. One of the books I remember well is How to Solve All Your Money Problems Forever. It developed the whole first part to this. Another book that focus on the subconscious is The Master Key System.
The interesting part is that we can only employ our conscious mind to peek into the subconscious.
Also, I am now reading on eastern religions, namely Hinduism and Buddhism. I thought they will have some methods to expand the conscious mind into the realm of the subconscious. But I could not find much on this. Maybe I don't have a higher enough training and can not experience it. But I will practice meditation diligently.

Tipping Point
Human mind has a unique feature. It is like sitting on the tip of a mountain. If you change your attitude a little bit, then the whole course changes. Could be from negative to positive. And after that, it will show a big difference.
In chaos theory, there is a famous 'butterfly effect.' Small changes in one part of the world could cause huge changes in another part. It is also true in the non-linear world of our mind.

Look Inside
Being->Mind->Desire->Will->Word->Action
The world we live in is demanding, also, it is so interesting. We need to attend to it so much that we seldom have the energy or motivation to look inside ourselves.

Right Timing
I think I chose the right time to write down my thoughts, as tarot.com said:
You want to be out and about now with the Moon in your 10th House of Status, but not just for lighthearted play. There are significant thoughts running around your mind and you would benefit from sharing them with others. Fortunately your ability to organize your thoughts is even greater than usual. Don't be afraid to trust your feelings; your friends will tell you if you get too far off track.

April 17, 2008 [Start]
Today, I decided to write. About personal achievement, success, brain biology, psychology, religion (currently I am interested in Hinduism and Buddhism), and spirituality.
I have read a lot, listened a lot. But I still need more. So, my plan is: read/study as I write. I will also find some friends to do this together with me——to form a small virtual group, to encourage each other (is that ego at work?)
Today, I would like to provide my observation to ego. Ego is the 'self sense'. It is so very important that it is the motivation to carry on in our lives. We all feel different and special (and we are) than other people. And we all feel important. Even a small child will have this sense. And what we do is to reinforce our notion of self.
Well, that is the positive side of ego——to provide fuel to live. It has caused problems in our lives. When we are faced with situations to choose from right or happy, or to choose from right or kind, our first reaction is to choose to be right. So, sometimes, we just will have to let the ego get out of the way to make things work.
After careful analysis, this ego is just a mental fabrication. It has no entity, no physical form. It is developed when we grow up. And we constantly feed it.
According to Hinduism, our true SELF——our spiritual being should be focused on, and ego should give way to SELF. Buddhism does not admit a ever-lasting self or ego. These are false connotations and one of our tasks is to have right understanding.
Another word about methodology, I am also very interested in subconscious. But the problem with it is we cannot use it, we only have our conscious mind to reason, infer, make things look logical. So we can only use experiments. Of course, there is another way. We can expand our conscious, make otherwise unconscious field into conscious field.
